A skill is the ability to perform with some degree of proficiency, or a specific task in a specific trade or occupation.
A trade is an occupation for which a provincial or territorial apprenticeship program is available. Apprentices learn their trade under a skilled tradesperson. Tradespersons can work as laborers, professionals, or in a combination of both careers.
