Youth Ability in Skilled Trades

 

Saskatchewan is one of the three Prairie Provinces where its rich soil, good climate grain and cattle farming still continue to flourish. The province already has numerous apprenticeship and other training programs in place including many from the Saskatoon Apprentiship organization.

 

YAST is a tool that will help guide you towards a career in trades that is satifying and fulfilling. YAST along side already existing programs will help you find careers in all skilled trades not just farming but all other trade such as plumbing, carpentry and so on.

 

Our functional and multipurpose website will also help employers by allowing them to post jobs, look at resumes as well as providing numerous other types of information.

 

YAST also demonstrates the many benefits to choosing to hire a person with a disability. An employer can look forward to more diversification in your working environment as well as tax rebates or grants in some cases.

Youth with disabilities are currently underrepresented in the Canadian workforce and face more physical and social barriers to employment than "able-bodied" youth
