Newfoundland and Labrador is a province rich in natural resources such as mining and oil. The skilled trade industry is prevalent in these industries with such careers as mechanics, operators and manufacturers.
Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans are wise to get a piece of this pie, as the average skilled trade worker in Canada gets paid $22.36 and hour versus the $21.02 the average other worker makes. This province has been taken incentives to encourage work in skilled trades, such as creating high school skilled trades education in “Future in Skilled Trades”.
There are also many opportunities being created every day for work in the skilled trades.
