Youth Ability in Skilled Trades

In Alberta, approximately 145,000 Albertans are employed in the mining and oil and gas extraction industry. Thousands more work in the services sector that supports energy exploration and production.

Our project,  YAST is focused on helping youth with disabilities gain skills and training to work in today’s large sectors. Another crucial goal of our project is to advertise this untapped resource pool of employees to skilled trade companies in Alberta like those in the Oil and Gas sector. YAST would like to highlight to employers that hiring youth with disabilities will really benefit their businesses.
