reads and interprets drawings and specifications

Floorcovering Installer installs, repairs and replaces various types of floorcovering or wall coverings made of carpet or vinyl

inspects and prepares subfloor

determines placement of seams or joints

estimates quantity and cost of materials

measures and cuts materials

places and fastens foam/rubber pad on floors for carpet

joins pieces and fastens edges of carpet around perimeter

applies adhesive and installs sheet goods/tile

replaces damaged portions of covering

removes/replaces baseboards and trim if necessary

covers stairs with carpet or vinyl
