We have four pictures of youth, arranged horizontally. First is a Caucasian girl in front of a map. Next, we have a young Asian man doing some construction work inside a house. Third, a Caucasian man with Down's syndrome works in an office. Finally, a young African-American woman smiling.

Legislation

People should have the right live free from discrimination and harassment, no matter what they do or where they go.

In Canada we have laws that protect every citizen and recognize fundamental rights which all are entitled to. These fundamental rights are so important that nobody can take them away from you without breaking the law.

There are two fundamental sets of laws that protect persons with disabilities from discriminatory hiring practices and provide for the right for accommodation. These are:

Human Rights Legislation
The Employment Equity Act

Additionally, each province has its own set of rules and regulations that can help persons with disabilities lead very productive lives.
